First actual run of 2017. Ran for 20 minutes nonstop, which is the longest in considerably longer than 1/1/17. It wasn't horrible, but I'm obviously in bad shape, and the pace was in the 11s before a 0.3 warmdown walk.

As it happens, the relationship I wrote about in my last blog post in February is now officially over as of this afternoon. As a practical matter its been over for three weeks, but she moved out today. She can't live with her new boyfriend, who is 18, lives with his mom and has no job or income. But when I told her the new BF is not welcome here, she decided she wasn't either (she was going to stay in my spare bedroom and pay rent, which I could have used the $). She had been having him in her room every night since she moved into the spare room, until I put my foot down. But that rent is not to be, and that's fine. Having the little twit here was causing me untold stress, and if it takes getting her out to get him out, that's fine. It's not like she was going to dump him and come back to me as a result.

So we'll see if this morning was a blip or if I'm finally ready to start getting back in shape. Marathon shape? Not any time soon. Maybe never. But just drop a few pounds, build up my stamina and get my resting heart rate back down. I have other romantic prospects, so hopefully M will be in the rear view mirror completely soon.

Went out for an early Memorial Day run with Chelle, which is a story all its own. Followed by an interesting morning. Chelle is even more out of shape than I am, so about all she could manage was Gallowalking in bursts of 1.5 to 3 minutes. But she got the last 3 minutes nonstop which I thought wasn't bad.
